February
Dave Peebler, of Koi Club of Kansas, reports the club has shut down for the Winter.

January 2013
Dave Peebler, of Koi Club of Kansas, reports their club has voted to disband after 13 years due to having no luck in recruiting new members the last couple of years.  (We’re sorry to hear that, Dave.)

November
Dave Peebler, of Koi Club of Kansas, reports no meeting planned for Nov and nothing important to report.

October
Dave Peebler, of Koi Club of Kansas, reports they had a great Baby Koi Adoption Day at my koi pond with 6 members from our club helping from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to catch all 160 of the little guys. From 2-4 p.m. we had about 14 other people from our club and the Kansas Pond Society picking out those that they wanted to adopt. I kept about 20 of the little ones and the rest found new homes. Much fun was had by all. Link to the video of that day: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9j_PQat3MSU.

September
Dave Peebler, of the Koi Club of Kansas, reports on Sunday September 16th we are having an adoption party at the Peebler home to try and get rid of about 125 baby koi hatched the last week of May. Hopefully I will have a good turnout here at the house. I am attaching a link to a video I shot two days ago of all the little ones and (of course) the parents. HELP!  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C9Bf0fLRk2Y.

August
Dave Peebler, of the Koi  Club of Kansas, reports they are taking the month of August off from a club meeting. The 102-110 degree heat is too much to even think about an outside meeting. Hopefully it will cool off and we will get something scheduled for Sept and Oct.  Dave will be hosting a Koi Adoption event in September. For those interested in attending or volunteering, please contact Dave at dpeebler@att.net.  Refreshments and live koi will be served! LOL

July
Dave Peebler, of Koi Club of Kansas, reports their club held a Luau on June 30 featuring a Shrimp Boil (shrimp, clams, sausage, potatoes & corn) with salad, rolls, dessert and drinks.  Games and entertainment followed dinner.  For discussion purposes, the club distributed an article in advance entitled “Pond Depth & Koi Growth,” an original essay by Chris Neaves.

June
Dave Peebler, of the Koi Club of Kansas, reports their club will be having a Hawaiian Luau meeting on June 30th.  Most of their members have been in koi upwards of 20 years and don’t meet but maybe 4 times per year anymore.  But when they do get together they have a great time.
