DAYTON KOI CLUB

Linda Kinney, of the Dayton KC, reports that members are anxiously waiting spring. The officers will email a questionnaire to determine members’ interests and to form committees for the year. The first meeting of 2013 will be held on Feb 21st at the home of Linda and Keith Kinney.
Linda Kinney, of the Dayton KC, reports that club held its Christmas Party in December at the home of Linda and Keith Kinney. The club is on winter hiatus until February.
Linda Kinney, of the Dayton KC, reports that the September meeting was held at Woodruff Koi Farm and on September 30th the club held a private members only pond tour.

The program topic was koi varieties, specifically a discussion on recognition of gosanke. The club will meet at Woodruff Koi Farm in September. There will also be a private koi pond tour in Sept.
Linda Kinney, of the Dayton KC, reports that the club held its annual picnic at the home of Todd and Amy Elliott in July. The weather was great and the potluck fare was a winner as well. The koi pond looked great and Todd’s new quarantine system was in full operation. Several members made the trip around the adjacent lake to get another koi fix at Steve and Becky Gainer’s pond too. August’s meeting will be at the Kinney home. The meeting topic will be koi varieties.
Linda Kinney, of the Dayton KC, reports that the club met on April 18th in Yellow Springs. Several members brought Goldfish from local pet stores so members could scrape them for parasites. Three microscopes were available and several parasites (flukes) were observed. The May meeting will be at the home of Joe Maranto.

The members went over the club questionnaire which had been sent to all members regarding plans for the upcoming year. The March meeting will also be at the Kinney’s home.

Havid Hardcastle, of the Gainesville KC, reports that February meeting was held at the home of Fred & Susan Chelf. The members discussed the upcoming Central Florida Koi Show in Orlando. Volunteers are always needed. Anyone wishing to enlist please contact Don Hellard or Henry Culpepper. Koi rescue will be arranged for two ponds in April. Shirley Stone was voted Koi Person of the Year. The club will not hold a meeting in March due to the koi show.
