November
Gia Lanigan, of Cascade Koi & GFC, reports after a remarkably hot and dry spring, summer and early autumn, we’re finally in the rain. It’s a shock to the system. In November we held our club elections with a surprising result! No change in officers. Due to seeming lack of interest, the club’s newsletter is being downsized to a monthly notice as to the next meeting location. In December, we will hold our End of Year Celebration at a Thai restaurant in Vancouver, WA. We’re planning a plant related stolen gift exchange and a silent auction. This promises to be great fun. Hope everyone, including their fishies, is staying warm. Check out the club’s web site at http://www.cascadekoiandgoldfish.org.

October
Georgia Lanigan, of Cascade Koi & GFC, reports she has taken over as AKCA Dir/Rep and will be furnishing club reports in the future. Check out the club’s web site at http://www.cascadekoiandgoldfish.org.

July
Terrie Kaufman, of Cascade Koi & GFC, reports after a year’s lapse, the club has rejoined the AKCA!  The club has members from Salem, OR to Longview, WA. We hold our potluck meetings on the second Saturday of each month and have special events in the summers when members can show off their ponds and do bar-b-ques. We are a small club which does not have a show, so our emphasis is on social gatherings where one can ask questions, get answers and exchange ideas. Our website is http://cascadekoiandgoldfish.org. Come join the fun or call Terrie (360) 571-0383 for more information.  Check out the club’s web site at http://www.cascadekoiandgoldfish.org.

Linda Montgomery, of Cascade Koi & Goldfish Club, reports that after being their AKCA Dir/Rep for many years, she is stepping down and the new Dir/Rep has not yet been named.  She will be missed and her legacy will not soon be forgotten.  Best wishes, Linda!  Check out the club’s web site at http://www.cascadekoiandgoldfish.org/news.php.

September
Linda Montgomery, of Cascade Koi & Goldfish Club, reports  she’s been the club’s AKCA Dir/Rep since 1996 (as well as a KHA and a Feature Editor for KOI USA magazine) but will be stepping down from her duties this coming Nov.  As a long time friend to both organizations and a faithful steward of the hobby, she deserves our heartfelt thanks.  She leaves large shoes to fill and will be sorely missed by many.  Best wishes, Linda!  Check out the club’s web site at http://www.cascadekoiandgoldfish.org/news.php.

May
Linda Montgomery, of Cascade K&GFC, said their next meeting will be a concrete leaf or stepping stone casting as a fun project.  Their last meeting they did a talk on history of koi; voted on Koi Person & Koi of the Year.

April
Linda Montgomery, of Cascade KC, reports that they are currently discussing different educational display options for this year…hoping for one that will give them the best chance at some new members.  They are also discussing some different option for their annual banquet this year.  The club purchased koi food for both the Japanese and Chinese Gardens again this year.  They have not as yet voted on their AKCA Person or Koi of the Year.  They had so few members attend the last month’s meeting that they felt it best to hold the nominations for this month’s meeting.  Linda will be doing a program on Koi History for this meeting.  The club has sent in both its ballots for the AKCA Election and By-Laws.

March
Linda Montgomery, said everything is pretty quiet; next meeting will show a video on water quality & then a round robin, and then a discussion on the annual banquet and voting on Koi Person and PNKCA Ed Fujimoto Award..

February
