Carole Boozer, of Nashville Pond Society, reports they had our April meeting at member Carolyn Strickland’s home. Our pot luck was amazing. Some of the dishes were chili, turkey wraps, 2 different potato salads, baked chicken, BBQ pork sandwiches, fresh fruit, several salads, homemade fruit tea, and other great dishes. We were so pleased that we got to eat outside by Carolyn’s pond. Also, the weather was perfect. Rochelle Kalinke gave a meeting on fish health, what to feed and not feed koi, salting your pond, medicating fish and medicated fish food, all the fish rescues we’ve had this year…so far, and she also talked about this year’s Pond Tour in August. We had a great day. Please see photos on our website. Check out their website at http://www.nashvillepondsociety.org.

Carole Boozer, of Nashville Pond Society, reports our Annual, Progressive Dinner is around the corner. What better way to get to know other members in a more personal environment, share stories, see other members ponds, have a great meal, and a fun evening. This year it will be on Saturday, September 20. Where? … Well that’s the fun part. It will be here, there, and everywhere, ….depending on where you live as to the proximity to other members. Last year the Progressive Dinner was a big success, and definitely fun for all who attended. Don’t miss out on a night to remember! Check out their website at http://www.nashvillepondsociety.org.

Carole Boozer, of Nashville Pond Society, reports YESTERDAY… was a mission accomplished. The Nashville Pond Society had 2 fish rescues (All Koi). The 1st one started at 7:06 a.m. and the second started at 1:00 p.m. The koi that I rescued went to 2 homes that will be on our Pond Tour (which will be in August). More information on the Pond Tour coming up soon. BACK…to yesterday…New members, Brian & Valerie Poile, and Glenda Terry and her teenagers, all did their “first” fish rescue by themselves. They did a wonderful, careful and successful rescue. They took their fish home and all fish are safe and happy in their new ponds.  Check out their website at http://www.nashvillepondsociety.org.

March

Rochelle Kalinke, of Nashville Pond Society, reports the club’s 2012 Parade of Ponds will be held in Sep in East Nashville/Inglewood this year! But, we still need a few more ponds. Do you have, or know someone that has, a pond? We are not looking for big fancy ponds (unless you have one); we are really more interested in showcasing urban backyard ponds. Proceeds will go toward building a pond or water feature for a local charity. Check out their website at http://www.nashvillepondsociety.org .
