Fred Blundell, of K&WGC of No. Texas, said their June meeting was held with the theme of “Dancing in June,” with over 16 members in attendance.  Laura Adams presented the program on Hydroponics and your water garden/fish pond, covering design, installation, plant selection and using the system for water filtration.  Several videos were presented followed by discussion.  A BBQ chicken Potluck luncheon followed.

Fred Blundell, of K&WGC of North Texas, said the road trip to Brenham, Texas, with the theme of “May Flowers,” though a little soggy, went off without a hitch with their 16 members in attendance.  They toured Jon & Cheryl’s farm catching up on the new baby donkey’s birth as well as the other animals including cattle and goats.  The plant swap, which took the place of the normal program, was a great success.  The pot luck luncheon theme was Mexican with beef and chicken dishes.  The upcoming June meeting program will feature a presentation on aquaponics.

Fred Blundell, of K&WGC of North Texas, said the April meeting wa(www.batworld.org) in Mineral Wells.  Their special guests were a female Mexican Free-Tail bat and a 4 month old baby opossum that stole the show.  The May meeting will be a road trip to Bonham, TX where they will be visiting Jon Paul & Cheryl’s farm, and their wildlife.  The May theme will be May Flowers.s held on April 14th with the 20th Anniversary theme of “April Showers” with over 35 members in attendance.  The program was “All about bats, opossums and raccoons” given by Kate Rugroden from Bat World Sanctuary

Fred Blundell, of K&WGC of North Texas, said the March meeting was held at the home of Gay Smyers in Plano and the theme for the meeting was “St. Patrick’s Day.”  The program was basically spring cleaning of their ponds and the products that their sponsors provide to help.  The guest speaker was Dan Martinez, from Sublime Water Gardens, who covered pond spring start up as well as the do’s and don’ts.  The club library book review for this month was “Frogs and Toads, an Owner’s Guide To A Happy Healthy Pet” by Steve Grenard.  The theme for their April meeting will be “April Showers.”

Fred Blundell, of K&WGC of North Texas, said it’s the club’s 20th year and are picking the best programs from past years and using one each month.  They are doing the Dallas Fair Park & taking care of the lagoon and plant monitoring; water quality for the fish and turtles.
