Henry Aschner, of the North Texas WGS, said they recently had a successful Pond Tour on June 10th/11th. Their next project is coming up in September to prep the Discovery Gardens pond at Fair Park before the State Fair of Texas. This is a home project they work on twice a year, potting and fertilizing lilies, trimming and thinning other water plants, and overall cleanup and any koi treatments.

Stephen Dumas, of North Texas WGS, said they are looking forward to a new year with lots of fun projects and information. This spring they will be having their annual potting workshop and pond cleanout at Texas Discovery Gardens as well as stream cleanout project at the Dallas Zoo with dates to be announced. Steve Dumas, of North Texas WGS, said they just had their annual Tour of Ponds on June 7th & 8th. During their July meeting, they had club members tell them about building their ponds. What they would do again and what they would do differently. Join them at their monthly meeting on August 12th for “Butterflies in the Garden,” with speaker Judy Collins. Or come to their September 9th meeting for “What Toad is That?” with speaker Barbara Turner. Also, in September, they will be at the Texas Discovery Garden at Fair Park in Dallas for the Fall Clean Up. Of course, no one wants to miss their Annual Holiday Party in December! They have had several fish & pond rescues this year, some of which are still ongoing. Steve personally rescued about 10 baby butterfly koi from a pond in North Texas. First off, come out February 28th to the Texas discovery garden in Fair Park at 9am for the Deep Clean. They will also be doing their spring community project at the Dallas Zoo Stream on Saturday, March 21st. Also look for their annual Tour of Ponds coming June 13-14th.
