June
The Potomac Koi Club is in the midst of finalizing plans for the 2012 Koi show which will be held on September 7 – 9, 2012 in Vienna, Virginia.  This is the 19th Koi Show for Potomac and looks to be a wonderful event.  The Show Committee has obtained a commitment for a world renowned Taiko Drummer who will perform at the event. Other demonstrations and presentations will occur which will display the Japanese culture.  The weekend will also display some of the finest quality koi on the East Coast.  Plan to attend what appears to be an amazing show.

May
ZNA Potomac KCThe club is preparing for their annual Young Koi Auction to be held on Sunday May 20.  This is the main fund raiser for the club and provides an opportunity to learn about purchasing young koi from Certified AKCA and ZNA Judges.  During the auction, a team will also be teaching bagging techniques to prepare new members for transporting to the show.  It is a fun event and an opportunity to sign up new members.

April
The club has been actively planning for the year’s events.  The April meeting will be held at the new location of one of our club sponsors Vienna Aquarium of Leesburg, Virginia.  The May meeting will be an Open House event where we hope to recruit new members for this year.  Also in May is our young koi auction on May 20 in the Mt Vernon, VA area.  The show in September is already drawing a lot of interest and questions.

March
The ZNA Potomac KC is not meeting until later this month. The Central Florida Koi Show Society had a fabulous show the weekend of 3/10/2012. Entrants, vendors and hobbyists came from all over the US as most states east of the Mississippi were represented plus some international and westerns.

February
The club is not meeting until March due to the winter weather. Plans are being discussed for the Young Koi Auction this spring in May. Over forty toys were donated to Toys For Tots program at the December Christmas meeting. The show is already on the calendar for September 8 – 10 in Vienna, Virginia.

January
The club had a very nice Christmas luncheon at a local restuarant. We collected Toys for Tots and had a nice social hour. The club will not meet again until March 2012.
