September
Diana Lynn Rehn, of Inland Empire WG&KS, reports they had a great summer starting off with our water plant booth at the Garden Expo.  This event had over 300 vendors.  We even sold shubunkins this year.  Next year we are considering selling baby koi!  In Jul we had our pond tour.  Unfortunately with all the area fires and the horrible smoke in the air, it was not well attended, but we still got three new members!  This summer we have had all our meetings (May through Sep and maybe Oct) pond side.  It is wonderful to have the beauty of the pond right beside you.  This year we had guest speakers on water quality and Ikebana, along with presentations on pond building and foam fractionators and bio filters.  Our upcoming meeting will be splitting plants and sharing with others in the club.  We have upcoming elections in Oct with an open slate at this time.  We had other new members recently join our club which we hope will help keep our club vibrant and interesting.  We had an update on our website with a new website address:  www.iewgks.org and a new webmaster and newsletter editor.  We hope to keep the workload spread out to make it more enjoyable for all!
