April
Monte McQuade, of Puget Sound KC, said they are hosting an informational booth at the Puyallup Spring Fair (thefair.com I believe) this coming weekend April 10-13.  This has been an annual event for their club which is attended by 60,000 – 100,000 people each year depending on the weather.  It is an indoor event at the state fair grounds but the weather is still a factor if people want to get out and go somewhere or stay at home.  Their “young” koi show will be held the 2nd weekend in August.  They only have the date at this time.  The location will probably be the same as past shows and judges have not been selected yet.  They were trying to present a new face for the koi show but that may have to wait until next year.

March
Monty McQuade, of Puget Sound KC, said their club is in a reorganization mode and are hoping to add to their small number this year.  Thus, the request to use the AKCA logo on a new trifold pamphlet they are going to print.  Last summer they hosted the PNKCA convention (The Pacific Northwest’s 13 koi clubs) and it was a success with over 50 people attending the entire 2 ½ day event.  They did not host their usual koi show but will pick it back up this year.  It will be one of 6 koi shows within the PNKCA.  Puget Sound Koi club’s show is unique in that it is a “young Koi show” or wakagoi and the max length is18”.  This is a whole different type of show and you can ask or imagine the differences for yourself.  This year it is being held the 2nd weekend of August.  PSKC also annually hosts an information booth at the Puyallup Spring Fair.  This event draws nearly 70-100 thousand people over the four day event.  Their handful of club members staff the booth for all hours of the fair with multiple members.  They also will be staffing tables at their vendors Spring opening or customer appreciation days usually about three events.  This year they may also include to some nurseries and set up a show tank to display fish.  Jan Jordan, of Mid-Columbia KC, said there is nothing to report at this time.
