The goal of the Koi Health Advisor (KHA) program is to promote the enjoyment of the koi hobby by supporting the training of numerous hobbyists throughout the US and parts of Canada whose mission will be (to the extent permitted by law) to:

1. Educate themselves and other hobbyists regarding proper koi husbandry with an emphasis on koi health including the prevention of disease and other problems,
2. Educate themselves and other hobbyists in the recognition and management of koi and pond problems,
3. Help others in the Koi hobby by assisting them in making health and pond system assessments and evaluating options for improvements, and
4. Promote membership in AKCA clubs as a way of enhancing the enjoyment of the hobby.

So our web site is dedicated to “enlarging the enjoyment of Koi Keeping through education.” Our hope is to carry on the tradition set early in the history of the AKCA and KOI USA by its early leaders. I hope that we can add to their vision, their dream, to become the focal point, the sounding board, and bible for Koi Keepers everywhere.

To become the premier site and a portal for the most accurate and most current knowledge available concerning pond and koi health and provide a site that is not only informative, but engaging, media rich and just plain fun to use.

To this end we have three areas on our site – Koi Community Forums, Information Portal and Koipedia. Each of these is described in their own areas of the site. KioPedia is collaboration between koi keepers, KHAs, veterinarians and other Koi health specialists. The goal is for everyone who uses this site to have a way to contribute to the knowledge base about Koi keeping in general and health care specifically. In this way we can amass a vast array of information accessible 24/7/365 where anyone can come for accurate up to date information on Koi care.
