First Place: A - Five years ago this Taisho Sanke would certainly be placed at least in 3rd place instead of 1st. But now the unique distribution of the pattern is intriguing and award winning. The patch of hi on the head looks like it broke from the body hi and slid forward. The color is impeccable. Again it is the snow white, so clean, which makes the judge's eye immediately rest on this Koi. The sharp kiwa on the bright red hi is uniformly perfect. And the sumi is deep throughout. Conformation is ideal.
Second Place: C - Some may disagree that this Koi is better than 3rd place because the red on the posterior half is so overbearing and there is no sumi posteriorly. However, the Koi is overall very appealing with its attractive front half with neatly placed hi with sumi balanced appropriately opposite the hi. This Taisho Sanke is eye catching, having a brilliant clean color plus and appealing pattern.
Third Place: B - This Taisho Sanke has eye catching white, bright clean as snow. But the scant hi makes this Koi lacking. If it just had more hi with the sumi remaining as it is, this Koi would be dynamite. Because of the beautiful white along with the uniform sumi, it could be moved ahead of some other Sanke which has a better hi pattern.
