COMMITTEE REPORTS

¨       KOI USA:  Joyce reported that Koi USA board met at 529 Blueridge on Tuesday, July 9th.  The

September/October issue will be down to 132 pages—winter mode for advertising.  It will also be about

a week late because the Seminar committee was somewhat delinquent in getting their final articles to

them.  They are reviewing the notes for the Atlanta Club and will notify them of any changes they make

to better explain what they need to do for Koi USA for next year’s Seminar.    Tom Shepard is no longer

taking pictures of koi; he has filled in his pond and will be moving to a smaller house.  He has been very

generous with all those wonderful shots and donated four large boxes of koi photos to Koi USA.  Doug

has received 2 e-mails stating that they were impressed with the photos that Joel Burkhardt provided.

Discussion of where to place the AKCA

¨       SCIENTIFIC COMMITTEE:  Burt received an e-mail from Spike (he’s in Europe).  Burt sent out

invitations to clubs for participating in the KHA program.  They may allow some additional people to

go to the wet labs that are out of their areas.  Doug stated that 5 more clubs need to be added as they

recently joined AKCA.  Burt stated that he is still working on getting insurance coverage; no quotes as

yet from 3 prospective carriers.
