PROXY CALLS FOR NOVEMBER

Check list for clubs who haven't paid dues or sent in rosters ... remind clubs!

What club wants to host the 2004 & 2005 Seminar?

OLD BUSINESS:

Koi Person of the Year: Judy stated that everyone should be aware that the forms for Koi Person of the Year go out in February. Once they are received back from the club, they are cut, signed by the President and then sent back to Burt for framing Those NOT picked up at the Seminar (at the end of June) are then mailed out. Due to events beyond our control, they were not mailed out this year until the 4th week of July. Everyone should realize that this process is time consuming and is done entirely by volunteers.

NEW BUSINESS

Leadership Team: Doug got an e‑mail from Midwest, Bob Passavoy, about who comprises a leadership team? He would like a definition; what position can dealers hold. It was stated that the AKCA rep cannot be a dealer. Otherwise, it is up to each individual club as to who their leadership team is. We need to have Debby Tibbetts‑Young change the wording in the club kit to read: "encouraged" or "recommended" on the officer sheet. It is also up to the individual clubs on how to run shows; some clubs do elect to let koi dealers enter koi in their shows. It was asked if the wife of a koi dealer could be an AKCA rep; NO!!!!! This applies to spouses or immediate family members.

Insurance: The club kit states that there is a $2,000 insurance policy per meeting; this is incorrect. The insurance policy is strictly a liability polity, Ile ONLY TIME A CLUB NEEDS AN INSURANCE CERTIFICATE IS WHEN A SITE REQUESTS ONE. Our insurance is a $1 million liability policy that covers every event (again you do not have to send or request an insurance certificate).

Motion to adjourn at 8:35 p.m. Motion by Carole, 2nd by Lisa. Approved
