Project KHV

New AKCA Project KHV Chair Announced:  Jack is a retired Navy Captain Medical Service Corp Officer with 42 years of service.  Jack has been involved with fish since a small child – starting with fancy guppies and now up to koi.  Jack’s interest with koi while stationed and living in Japan sparked his interest and desire to learn about koi and joined the Koi Club of San Diego.  Jack has been active in Koi Club of San Diego activities and served two and a half years as an elected club officer (1st VP for Program) and is currently in his 6th year as a Koi Health Advisor (KHA).  Jack was the program chairman for the 2009 AKCA Seminar and Koi Show.  Jack is active as a KHA, performing pond visits and weekly provides assistance with maintaining the pond and koi at the Japanese Friendship Garden in Balboa Park.  Jack has a good working relationship with two local veterinarians who treat koi as part of their practice.  Jack has a never ending desire to learn all things “koi” and is never at a loss for words or opinions in trying to share that information in various forms with fellow koi hobbyists.  Jack’s koi pond is just over 12,000 gallons with several high quality koi.   Jack and his wife, Fran, have six children, ten grandchildren and one great grandson.
